Adalat AI
Claude Code for engineering and Claude API for a court-case WhatsApp helpline
Adalat AI cut bug investigations from half a day to under two hours with Claude Code
Problem
Adalat AI is a nonprofit that builds speech-to-text and translation tools for courts in India and the Global South. A small engineering team had to ship new products and fix bugs quickly for court staff and for families looking up their cases.
Approach
The team used Claude Code for architecture checks, feature work, bug fixing and code review. A rapid prototyping team gave each new initiative to one engineer. The Claude API, with Claude Sonnet 4.5 and Haiku 4.5, also runs a WhatsApp helpline that summarizes court orders and translates them into English, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam.

Takeaway
A small team used a coding assistant to move from idea to a live product for real users within weeks. The company did not say how it measured the productivity gain.
