B3
Conversational assistant for investor education
Brazil's B3 adds an AI assistant to its investor education site, reaching about 10,000 users a day
Problem
Brazil's individual investors grew from about 600,000 in 2017 to around five million. Many hold small balances, find financial terms hard to follow, and struggle to sort reliable content online.
Approach
B3 launched the assistant in February 2024 on Azure OpenAI Service and Azure AI Search. It was trained on B3's educational material and then on content from the securities regulator CVM and partners, all reviewed by B3 specialists. It explains terms but gives no stock tips or advice, and an ethics layer blocks such answers.
Results
Takeaway
B3 kept the assistant to education, with expert-reviewed sources and a filter against investment advice. Microsoft reports about 10,000 users a day, with no measured learning outcome.
