ConnectOne Bancorp
nCino Banking Advisor and AI agents for commercial lending
ConnectOne Bank cut commercial lenders' document search from 20 minutes to as little as 30 seconds with nCino AI
Problem
Commercial bankers at ConnectOne spent much of their time on administrative work, including searching documents and updating relationship records.
Approach
nCino, the bank's software provider since 2017, introduced its Banking Advisor chatbot and two custom AI agents for commercial lending in April 2026. nCino engineers worked on site with ConnectOne administrators to build the agents inside the bank's own environment. The CEO described the work as an investment in the future rather than a cost cut.
Results
Takeaway
The bank reported early results within months of launch. It aimed at frontline admin time and did not frame the project as a headcount saving.
