Problem

Freedom Forever, a residential solar installer with about 3,000 employees, handles thousands of permits a month on utility and municipality websites and by email. Installation timelines are its most important metric, and permit work held them up.

Approach

A 50-person software and product team built a permit automation system on the Claude Agent SDK. It submits permits on utility and municipality sites, processes permit emails and connects to the company's CRM. The team also built an internal agent console on the SDK.

Results

about 71%share of permit emails fully processed without human interventionVendor case study[1]
$0.20 to $0.35cost per agent execution, completed in about two minutesVendor case study[1]
2 to 5 timesless time than the human equivalentVendor case study[1]

Takeaway

A backfill run found permit emails that had sat unprocessed for about three weeks on average, and clearing them unblocked a couple dozen customer projects.
