Azure Arc, IoT Operations and Factory Companion chatbot

Husqvarna unifies factory systems with Azure Arc and reports 98% faster data deployment

Problem

Cloud, hybrid and on-premises systems across the group's factories were fragmented. Factories mostly reacted to problems after they occurred.

Approach

Husqvarna linked existing systems through Azure Arc without replacing them. Azure IoT Operations analyzes data at the edge and started in two factories, with a global rollout planned. The Factory Companion chatbot uses Azure OpenAI Service to give troubleshooting guidance from maintenance history and machine documents.

Takeaway

Connecting old and new systems can come before AI features on the factory floor. Microsoft did not disclose the baseline or period for the reported percentages.
