KCC Engineering & Construction
KOUP AI real-time voice translation for site safety training
KCC Engineering & Construction began official use of AI voice translation for foreign workers' safety training
Problem
More foreign workers are on construction sites, and safety information has to reach them in their own languages. Trainers speak Korean.
Approach
KCC developed the KOUP AI voice translation system. It recognizes the trainer's Korean speech, translates it in real time and shows subtitles on screen. One session can show up to 4 languages at once from a set of 10. It can also subtitle videos, including outside safety content, and show slides next to the subtitles. The company tested it on building and civil sites before starting official operation in August 2026. A mobile platform for work areas is in development.
Results
Takeaway
The company reported site tests of fit and convenience but no figures on training outcomes or accident rates.
