Problem

A Korean construction company ran its projects on a 20-year-old project management system that covered work from winning an order through final settlement. LG CNS, the IT services arm of LG Group, had to modernize it. The company said a conventional delivery would have taken at least twice the available time and money.

Approach

LG CNS built an orchestration layer around Claude Code for its Build Factory modernization service. The layer covers legacy analysis, business logic extraction, code generation, testing, verification and quality management. Work was split into small tasks defined in YAML, and Claude was accessed through Amazon Bedrock so it ran inside the client's existing AWS security setup. The project ran from November 2025 to June 2026.

Takeaway

Splitting a migration into small, scoped tasks with validation between stages let one IT services team convert almost all of a legacy system's interfaces in a single project.
