Mondra
Sherpa chatbot for product carbon emissions
Mondra's Sherpa chatbot gives UK grocers CO2 data on over 60,000 products, and one customer cut lasagne production emissions by 18%
Problem
Grocers must cut supplier-related Scope 3 emissions to meet net zero targets. Supply chains are also exposed to climate and conflict risks.
Approach
Mondra built Sherpa on Azure OpenAI. It calculates the CO2 from making own-label and branded products down to ingredient level, and retailers query it in natural language.
Results
Takeaway
Mondra monitors more than 60,000 products and over a million unique ingredients, and says it serves 85% of the UK grocery market. One customer cut a lasagne's production emissions 18% after reformulating it.
