English Writing Bootcamp graded by Azure OpenAI
Japanese prep school grades English essays in 20 seconds, down from about four days
Problem
Students needed more English writing practice, but teachers had little time to correct it. A full-time team took about four days to return work.
Approach
The school built the bootcamp on Azure OpenAI (GPT-4) and spread load across 10 regions to serve up to 100,000 simultaneous users. It grades answers from A to E and offers corrections. A trial started in September 2023 and the service launched in April 2024.
