Problem

Workers interpreted non-destructive tire inspection images to find structural defects and trapped air. Very small faults could be difficult to see.

Approach

Nexen Tire worked with Neurocle and PDS Solution on an AI inspection platform. It deployed the platform on X-ray and shearography equipment at domestic and overseas factories. The system automated model training and deployment as well as image interpretation.

Takeaway

The highest reported recall was not an average across every installation. The platform also shortened the work needed to create inspection models.
