Problem

MRI examinations required patients to remain in scanners while diagnostic demand grew. Long scans could cause discomfort, particularly for patients already in pain.

Approach

NHS Fife introduced Deep Resolve in March 2025. Its deep-learning reconstruction reduced image noise and supported faster scanning. The software became embedded at Queen Margaret Hospital and Victoria Hospital.

Takeaway

The shorter examinations coincided with additional appointment capacity and reduced waits. NHS Fife reported that it no longer needed third-party mobile scanners after introduction.
