Problem

Factory logistics required containers to reach human operators. Siemens tested whether an AI-controlled robot could perform this work in an operating factory.

Approach

Siemens and Humanoid tested the wheeled HMND 01 Alpha at Siemens' electronics factory in Erlangen. The robot autonomously moved totes for operators. It used NVIDIA's physical AI stack, including simulation and reinforcement-learning tools.

Results

above 90%autonomous pick-and-place success rate in the trial, reported by SiemensCompany's own claim[1]

Takeaway

The trial measured handling performance in factory operations. Siemens did not report deployment costs or savings from replacing manual handling.
