Suraasa
Generative AI for assignment evaluation and lesson plans on a teacher-training platform
Suraasa cut its assignment evaluation workforce from 15 to 5 with an in-house language model
Problem
Suraasa trains teachers online, and staff marked learner assignments by hand. The work took a lot of time. Teachers on the platform also spent hours building lesson plans.
Approach
Suraasa built a language model of its own on Vertex AI to evaluate learner assignments. It also launched generative AI tools for teachers that produce lesson plans, worksheets, rubrics and assessments from a few details typed into boxes. The company made the tools free for teachers to use.
Results
Takeaway
Suraasa used the same generative AI work for an internal back-office task and for a feature offered to its users. Only the internal task has a staffing figure.
