AI routing and machine-learning arrival-time prediction for shared rides
Swvl ran its shared-ride routing and arrival-time estimates on in-house AI platforms called Routimizer and Ratimator
Problem
Riders on shared mass-transit routes need vehicles to arrive when promised. Traffic, weather and shifting demand make fixed schedules unreliable.
Approach
Swvl built its own routing platform, Routimizer, which plans routes using live traffic, expected bottlenecks, weather and rider demand. It also built Ratimator, a machine-learning engine that estimates arrival times from vehicle location, traffic, driver behavior, time of day and passenger load. The company described both tools in a September 2025 blog post.
Results
No published figures
Takeaway
Swvl presented punctuality as the result of two proprietary prediction and routing tools. The company published no on-time rates or other results.
