Problem

Manual meter collection exposed billing to reading errors. Tata Power-DDL also needed to verify that submitted readings and images were genuine.

Approach

Tata Power-DDL and Anyline developed and tested mobile optical character recognition with AI anti-spoofing. Field workers scanned meters using device cameras, and the utility verified the captured readings and images. The solution was rolled out across North Delhi.

Takeaway

The deployment addressed both transcription errors and the authenticity of field submissions. Anyline reported better reading quality and shorter billing cycles without publishing measured improvements.
