Vision AI inspection during export packing
TVS Motor cut new-part vision-model training from a week to less than a day
Problem
Similar-looking parts made export-kit packing difficult to check manually. Missing or incorrect parts could remain undiscovered until assembly overseas.
Approach
TVS Motor developed vision inspection using YOLO and FRCNN object-detection algorithms. It integrated inspection with its manufacturing execution system and conveyor controls. A wrong-part detection stopped the conveyor for an operator to correct the packing.
Results
Takeaway
Inspection results directly controlled the packing line, with operators resolving detected errors.
