Problem

UNAM teachers needed pedagogical recommendations suited to their individual courses. Course context varied by subject and teaching format.

Approach

CUAED developed an assistant using the ChatGPT API after proposing it in February 2023. It piloted web and Moodle versions with 89 teachers at FES Cuautitlán. Released through Aulas Virtuales in May 2024, it used course profiles to generate teaching recommendations.

Results

Takeaway

Course profiles supplied context for recommendations; registration figures did not establish improvements in student learning.
