Problem

An operations-management class needed support outside teaching hours. Repeated questions around assessments consumed instructor time.

Approach

Ross faculty tested Maizey against ChatGPT, then created a tutor using course materials. Maizey drew on a Canvas knowledge base and cited material in its answers. Students could ask questions at any hour.

Results

over 1,000questions students asked Maizey during fall semester, per U-MCompany's own claim[1]
5 to 12estimated instructor hours saved weekly, calculated from question volume and assumed response timeCompany's own claim[1]

Takeaway

The time-saving estimate assumed instructors would otherwise spend 2 minutes answering each question; it was not a direct workload measurement.
