WorkingCompany's own claimOfficial ↗

Problem

Transmission-line operators needed to detect threats such as forest fires and vehicles entering protected corridors. Some monitored areas regularly experienced fires.

Approach

PTC2 began testing AI on a transmission-line camera in June 2021. The system recognized abnormalities and sent Telegram alerts to operators. After the pilot, PTC2 installed additional operating systems on the Da Nang–Vung Ang line and continued labeling data to improve recognition.

Results

3additional recognition systems installed and operating after the pilot, according to EVNCompany's own claim[1]

Takeaway

Camera detection fed an existing operator messaging channel. EVN did not report detection accuracy or a measured reduction in outages.
