Airtasker
Airtasker app inside ChatGPT, built on its own MCP server
Airtasker let customers post a task and hire a Tasker inside ChatGPT through its own MCP server
Problem
Airtasker's marketplace matches people who need local jobs done with workers called Taskers. Customers had to leave any AI chat they were using and go to the Airtasker site or app to post a job.
Approach
Airtasker built a remote Model Context Protocol server covering both customers and workers, and launched an app inside ChatGPT on 17 August 2026. A user describes a job in plain language, and the app turns it into a task listing, suggests a budget and shows offers. The user can accept an offer with payment held securely and read the Tasker's public profile. Users sign in to their Airtasker account to grant access. The same server exposes a public endpoint that other AI tools can connect to.
Results
No published figures
Takeaway
Airtasker used one MCP server to serve ChatGPT and to open the marketplace to other AI tools. It gave no usage or booking figures at launch.
