Ally.ai customer-service call summarization
Ally said approximately 82 percent of AI call summaries needed no human modification
Problem
Customer-service associates spent time documenting calls and moving between screens. Ally wanted to reduce that work while protecting customer data.
Approach
Ally's internal team built Ally.ai using Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service. A pilot supported more than 700 associates, whose feedback helped refine prompts and outputs. Call summarization moved into the associates' production portal after a month.
Results
Takeaway
Associates' feedback became part of development before the production rollout. The no-modification rate measured whether staff accepted summaries unchanged, rather than independently establishing their accuracy.
