Problem

Avista's service representatives took notes during customer conversations and completed administrative work afterward. Its contact center also struggled during widespread outages.

Approach

Avista worked with NeuraFlash to deploy Amazon Connect with Salesforce. Advisory work began in June 2022, and the system went live in May 2024. Automatic speech transcription put call information beside customer records in the representatives' desktop.

Results

40%reduction in after-call work associated with automatic transcription and less manual note-taking, per AWSVendor case study[1]

Takeaway

Transcription reduced representatives' note-taking burden, and after-call work fell by 40%. Avista was still exploring sentiment analysis and automatic note generation.
