ChatPPGD clinical document search app
Beth Israel Lahey Health: ChatPPGD reaches 98% document search accuracy for clinicians
Problem
Clinicians struggled to find information in the system's document repository, which used keyword search. Staff often looked for answers elsewhere.
Approach
The Innovation Lab built ChatPPGD, a mobile-friendly app using Azure AI Document Intelligence, Azure OpenAI Service and Azure AI Search. Staff ask questions in plain language and get answers with citations to source documents. It launched in February 2023.

Takeaway
Staff could search over 3,800 critical care guidance documents in plain language and check the cited sources. The health system reported 98% accuracy without disclosing its test method.
