Binggrae
AI restoration for the Late Graduation campaign
Binggrae restored independence activists' photographs with AI for an honorary graduation campaign
Problem
Binggrae wanted more people to recognize its support for independence activists' descendants. Surviving photographs could not readily provide the student portraits needed for an honorary graduation album.
Approach
Binggrae worked with Dminusone and Episode Film on the campaign. Deep learning and de-aging restored photographs and recreated the activists' younger appearances. AI and hologram technology also recreated activist Kim Chan-do delivering a graduation speech.

Takeaway
The restored portraits became physical graduation albums as well as campaign material. Reported audience results covered the broader campaign, rather than the separate contribution of AI.
