Problem

Capita wanted to speed up software work but first had to resolve data and privacy questions about an AI coding tool.

Approach

Capita ran a proof of concept with 40 developers, then a three-month trial, and widened the rollout in December 2023. More than 200 users had access, with a SharePoint knowledge base, a Teams channel and Forms feedback supporting the rollout.

Results

Takeaway

The 15% to 25% gain applies to changes to existing code. Savings over the first 18 months remained an expectation.
