Problem

Editors searched video titles and descriptions, then manually reviewed footage. Finding usable material depended on colleagues' knowledge of the archive.

Approach

Condé Nast and the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center built semantic video search using TwelveLabs Marengo on Amazon Bedrock and OpenSearch. Editors could search by meaning and receive timestamped clips. AWS reported six months of production use.

Results

99.2%reduction in discovery time, from 250 to approximately 2 minutes per task, measured by Condé NastCompany's own claim[1]

Takeaway

The time savings came from a May 2026 benchmarking workshop. Annual cost savings remained an estimate.
