Deutsche Telekom
RAN Guardian and MINDR network AI agents
Deutsche Telekom's RAN Guardian agent cuts major-event handling from hours to about a minute
Problem
Large events and traffic surges strain mobile radio networks, and engineers had to spot and fix problems by hand. Deutsche Telekom wanted faults handled before customers notice them.
Approach
With Google Cloud, Deutsche Telekom built RAN Guardian, a Gemini-based agent that watches radio network behavior during big events. It has run in production in Germany since November 2025 and is being extended to Czech and Croatian units. The successor, MINDR, correlates signals across radio, transport and core networks; its first production releases are planned for later in 2026.

Takeaway
The company started with one narrow job, the radio network at big events, and plans the broader multi-domain system only after that agent ran in production.
