Problem

Elkjøp's commerce platform depended on a single Azure region. Its engineers needed to establish another region while keeping retail transactions running.

Approach

Engineers used GitHub Copilot to build automation for replicating Kubernetes clusters and extending database and messaging services across regions. They brought more than 200 business-critical microservices into Azure Sweden Central during summer 2025.

Results

200+microservices moved using Copilot-assisted tooling, per MicrosoftVendor case study[1]
Zerocustomer-visible downtime during the move, per MicrosoftVendor case study[1]

Takeaway

The reported result concerned the migration as a whole. Microsoft did not isolate Copilot's contribution to the absence of downtime.
