Heritage Grocers Group
Lucid Data Hub on Microsoft Fabric for point-of-sale data
Heritage Grocers builds a POS data hub in two months and reports at least $500,000 saved
Problem
The chain grew to 115 stores through acquisitions, and point-of-sale data came from varied ERP systems. Traditional data organization was too slow, and leaders needed fast access to sales data.
Approach
Heritage worked with the consultancy Adastra to build a central data lake with Microsoft Fabric. Azure OpenAI Service automated the classification of three years of historical data. The goal was under six months, against a typical 18 months or more for a project this size.
Results
Takeaway
Automating the classification of historical data shortened the build. Heritage and Adastra claimed savings of at least $500,000 without providing a breakdown.
