Internal generative AI for document work and information retrieval
KIC's internal AI requests fell from 3,755 in May to 798 in September
Problem
KIC needed support for document summaries and translation, including retrieval from internal administrative records. Its model selection also had to fit limited computing hardware.
Approach
KIC incorporated the BGE-M3 retrieval model in December 2025 and opened the service to all employees in May 2026. Qwen3 handled language generation, with other models assigned supporting tasks. Internal rules and parliamentary inquiry materials were among the records processed.

Takeaway
Availability across the organization did not sustain initial usage. Falling requests did not establish that KIC had reduced the service's scope.
