AI findings added to the Second Opinions teleradiology platform
Nano-X added three FDA-cleared AI tools to its Second Opinions service, with physicians approving every finding
Problem
Patients who send chest or abdominal CT scans to a teleradiology second-opinion service may have signs of chronic disease that the original scan was not read for.
Approach
Nanox AI, Nano-X's deep-learning subsidiary, integrated three FDA 510(k)-cleared tools into Second Opinions, a platform run by USARAD Holdings. The tools measure coronary artery calcium, bone mineral density with vertebral compression fractures, and liver density as a marker of fatty liver. Physicians review and approve the AI findings before they go into the patient report.
Results
No published figures
Takeaway
Nano-X kept a physician sign-off between the algorithm and the report. The release gave no accuracy or volume figures.
