Problem

State workers needed help with document translation and call-center work. Website feedback also required analysis to identify recurring problems.

Approach

New Jersey's Office of Innovation built a generative AI assistant and rolled it out in July 2024. The state paired access with free training developed with InnovateUS. Workers used it to translate documents and support service operations, including analysis of website comments.

Results

Takeaway

Worker and prompt counts established adoption. Those counts did not measure the quality of completed work or hours saved.
