Open House Group
In-house AI tool that generates housing flyers
Open House's in-house flyer generator cut about 11,250 hours of flyer work a year, and the review team saved another 1,085 hours
Problem
Sales staff made each property flyer by hand, which took 30 to 60 minutes and sometimes two to three hours. Quality varied, and the team that checks flyers against Japan's misleading-advertising rules needed a long time to review them.
Approach
The IT department built an internal web app. An employee enters a property name, the app pulls price and other data from the company database, and AI trained on tens of thousands of past flyers lays out the page and writes the text. One property yields up to a dozen or so layouts in two to three minutes. The tool went live in July 2020, and details such as type size were set to match the advertising rules.

Takeaway
The project began with a request from the legal review team, and the hours saved came from both making and checking flyers. Standardizing the layout also shortened the review.
