Problem

Queues at kiosks and bars on match days and concert days slowed sales at Parken Stadium.

Approach

In February 2024 the club opened Parken GO on the stadium's C-tribune, described as the first of its kind in Scandinavia. Guests scan a card at the entrance, take what they want and leave. Visual AI recognises the items, and the card is charged automatically. The cashier module and checkout line were removed.

Results

from 1 minute 20 seconds to 15-20 secondsservice time per guest, a cut of nearly 80%, as reported by the clubCompany's own claim[1]
10-15%increase in revenue per transaction, as reported by the clubCompany's own claim[1]
99.8%share of transactions that went through, excluding cards without enough cover, as reported by the clubCompany's own claim[1]

Takeaway

Removing the checkout step shortened service and raised the value of each sale, according to the club's own figures.
