SciPlay
Churn prevention and player segmentation models for mobile games
SciPlay lifted player retention 5% across its games with churn and segmentation models
Problem
SciPlay, maker of mobile social games such as Jackpot Party and Quick Hit Casino, serves more than 6 million monthly users. Its behavioral, session and attribution data sat in separate places, which made it hard to spot players likely to leave.
Approach
SciPlay unified its player data on Databricks and built machine learning models in MLflow. A churn prevention model flagged at-risk players, and other models grouped players into cohorts to personalize game experiences.
Results
Takeaway
Retention gains came after player data was brought together and used to target at-risk groups.
