Haul-truck engine failure prediction with ClearObject

Teck received 10 predictive engine models in 3 months and used technician feedback to refine alerts

In progressVendor case studyVendor ↗

Problem

Critical engine failures took haul trucks out of operation. Teck wanted earlier warnings to reduce unplanned downtime.

Approach

ClearObject delivered models for component failures, anomalies and engine performance. Truck health data fed an alarm-management system. The partners used feedback from technicians in service to refine notifications and reduce false alerts.

Results

10machine learning models delivered in three months, according to ClearObjectVendor case study[1]

Takeaway

Model delivery was followed by continuing refinement. ClearObject did not report a measured reduction in failures or downtime.
