Trusco Nakayama
AI and mathematical optimization app for personnel transfer plans
Trusco Nakayama cut the work of drafting personnel transfer plans by about 98% with an optimization app built with Fujitsu
Problem
Each round of transfers covers about 100 people, and the possible placement combinations number about 10 to the power of 158. HR staff built the plans by hand.
Approach
Trusco and Fujitsu built an app in about four months on Fujitsu Data Intelligence PaaS. A mathematical optimization model proposes placements. An AI chat feature lets HR staff discuss a proposal with an AI that draws on HR data and the criteria HR has used, to check they have considered it from enough angles. HR staff make the final decision. The company has used the app since the April 2026 transfers.
Results
Takeaway
The optimizer drafts the plans and the chat assistant serves as a second reader, while people keep the final call.
