Problem

Dai-ichi Life wanted to reach people unfamiliar with insurance or too busy to consider their future protection needs.

Approach

The insurer began developing ICHI-to-Chat with Capex in 2022 and started customer trials in June 2023. Its generative AI character held informal conversations through LINE. A further trial ran from May 16 to June 6, 2024.

Results

About 10,000users in the May-June 2024 trial, according to Dai-ichi LifeCompany's own claim[1]
About 73%satisfied or somewhat satisfied among about 2,000 survey respondents, according to Dai-ichi LifeCompany's own claim[1]

Takeaway

Satisfaction came from respondents to an in-chat survey; it did not measure insurance sales.
