Problem

Administrative staff needed help preparing documents and finding information. Municipal access also required infrastructure suitable for government work.

Approach

Bavaria's IT service center developed and operated BayernKI through the government network. The assistant became available across the state administration in October 2024. After a municipal pilot, Bavaria opened participation to all municipalities in October 2026.

Results

50municipalities in the pilot before its statewide expansion, according to BavariaCompany's own claim[1]

Takeaway

A shared government service allowed municipalities to join an existing deployment. The municipal count measured pilot participation rather than productivity.
