IBM
Project status reporting agent for hardware compliance teams
IBM's hardware compliance teams cut recurring status meetings by more than half with a project reporting agent
Problem
Project leads in IBM's Hardware Compliance organization estimated they spent two to four hours a week in status meetings. Project status was gathered by hand and was not always current.
Approach
A team in IBM's Systems Assurance and Hardware Compliance groups built a global project status reporting agent on watsonx Orchestrate. It began as a proof of concept in the 2025 IBM watsonx Challenge and went into production in October 2025. About 45 users in the Hardware Compliance organization use it, and the team also used IBM Bob in development.

Takeaway
An agent that answers status questions at any hour can replace a standing meeting. The team that built it was also its first user.
