Problem

IHI wanted to reduce routine document and analysis work while controlling the handling of internal information. Individual experimentation had not yet established consistent departmental use.

Approach

IHI built Chat-IHI using Azure OpenAI Service and released it to domestic group employees in June 2023. A supporting portal supplied operating guidance and restrictions on data entry. A departmental campaign required employees to report actual applications and their effects.

Results

3,600people who used Chat-IHI during its first week, per IHICompany's own claim[1]

Takeaway

IHI paired access with a campaign that collected workplace applications. First-week use measured uptake, while reported task improvements came from individual examples.
