Juventus Forward AI projects with Huware: research tool, injury-prevention models and Pitch Sense
Juventus built AI tools with Huware for sport science, injury prevention and pitch monitoring
Problem
Juventus's Sport Science and R&D staff needed quicker access to complex scientific content. The club also wanted better planning of player workload to limit physical risk, and better upkeep of its pitches.
Approach
Under its Juventus Forward innovation programme, the club worked with Huware on Google Cloud. One tool gives Sport Science and R&D staff scientific content in plainer language. Predictive models use each player's workload and history to support planning. Pitch Sense, built with the startup Space11, links environmental and performance data to monitor pitch conditions. The projects were presented at the Google Cloud Summit in Milan on 12 June 2025.
Results
No published figures
Takeaway
Juventus described a concrete reduction in physical risk from the injury-prevention work but published no figures. Pitch Sense was described as aiming to improve pitch maintenance.
