Lifenet Insurance

Self-built internal LLM for employees

Lifenet Insurance built its own LLM and 87% of its general-track staff used it within about six months

WorkingCompany's own claim

Problem

The online life insurer wanted employees to use generative AI at work. It needed a tool the company ran itself.

Approach

A project team formed in July 2023 and began with an internal text-generation AI system. In July 2024 the company launched an LLM it built for internal use. The development team ran study sessions on how to use it. Staff used it for brainstorming, research, and writing formulas and code.

Results

87%share of the 203 general-track full-time employees who used the internal LLM as of January 2025, per LifenetCompany's own claim[1]
約152時間total work time saved as estimated by the 56 respondents of an August 2024 internal survey, about two months after launch, per LifenetCompany's own claim[1]

Takeaway

The two figures cover different groups and dates, so they do not add up. One is a usage rate for 203 general-track staff and the other is an estimate from 56 survey respondents.
