VAAKEYE security monitoring at commercial properties

Mitsubishi Estate's camera AI pilot flagged 4 high-priority events, according to VAAK

WorkingVendor case studyVendor ↗

Problem

Commercial-property staff needed to identify suspicious or dangerous behavior in shared areas and tenant shops.

Approach

Mitsubishi Estate tested VAAKEYE at Shin-Marunouchi Building and Yokohama Landmark Tower from July through August 2019. AI analyzed camera footage and notified employees of behavior requiring review. Notices informed visitors that video analysis was operating.

Results

4events flagged at urgency level 4 during the pilot, per VAAKVendor case study[1]
2shops with available figures reporting no difference between theoretical and shelf inventory, per VAAKVendor case study[1]

Takeaway

An alert still required human interpretation: 1 suspected shoplifting event was someone returning a personal item to a bag. The reported inventory results did not establish how much loss the system prevented.
