Generative AI chatbot answering pharmacy store staff questions from manuals

Qol's pharmacy staff cut lookup time from over 5 minutes to about 30 seconds with a manual-based AI chatbot, Hitachi Solutions says

Problem

Staff at Qol's community pharmacies had to search manuals to answer internal questions. The earlier rule-based chatbot needed prepared FAQs.

Approach

Qol worked with Hitachi Solutions on a chatbot built on the Alli LLM App Market. It uses retrieval from store manuals to generate answers and shows the source of each one. A three-month PoC came first, and the build took about two weeks after it. Store staff and head-office employees use it for internal questions.

Results

5分以上 → 30秒ほどtime for store staff to find information, from over 5 minutes to about 30 seconds, per Hitachi SolutionsVendor case study[1]
月40件ほど → 月200件ほどmonthly chatbot uses, from about 40 to about 200, per Hitachi SolutionsVendor case study[1]

Takeaway

Qol's usage figures are small in absolute terms, but the chatbot replaced a rule-based tool without needing a prepared FAQ. All figures come from the integrator's case study.
