AI avatars of real hosts on live-streaming platforms

Scienjoy put AI avatars of real streamers on air around the clock when hosts are offline

In progressCompany's own claimOfficial ↗

Problem

Live-streaming rooms go quiet when hosts are offline, and hosts cannot cover every hour. Scienjoy wanted continuous content while hosts focused on peak hours.

Approach

Scienjoy trained digital avatars on real streamers' data so they could copy hosting styles, and launched them on its main China platform. The avatars are labeled, and users can pick real streamers or avatars from the navigation menu. On its overseas platform BeeLive, the company piloted fully digital streamers under a separate tab.

Results

No published figures

Takeaway

Labeling the avatars and letting users choose between them and human hosts was part of the launch design.
