Claude summaries of claim notes and diary entries

Sentry estimated saving tens of thousands of hours annually with AI claim summaries

WorkingCompany's own claim

Problem

Long-running insurance claims accumulated extensive notes. Claim representatives wrote summaries to help colleagues take over files.

Approach

Sentry integrated Anthropic's Claude into its claim system to summarize file notes and diary entries. It put the summaries into production in summer 2024 after testing accuracy and refining output quality. Employees provided feedback through the application.

Results

tens of thousands of hoursestimated annual savings from claim summarization, extrapolated by Sentry rather than individually trackedCompany's own claim[1]

Takeaway

Sentry estimated savings from summary volumes and previous writing time. It did not track how representatives used the released time.
