Natural-language routing for customer support calls
Toyota Motor North America reduced call transfers by 13% with natural-language routing
Problem
Toyota's legacy voice-response system was approaching the end of its support agreement. The company wanted customers to reach the right support department more reliably.
Approach
Toyota adopted Amazon Connect with Salesforce Service Cloud Voice. Amazon Lex interpreted callers' requests and routed them to the appropriate department. After an initial migration in April 2023, Toyota moved its entire contact center over in two months.
Results
Takeaway
Natural-language routing reduced the need to transfer callers between departments. Toyota's manager reported that customers reached the right agent on their first call more frequently.
