Problem

Workiva's sustainability report draws on many contributors, benchmarks and disclosure frameworks. Producing it took considerable time each year.

Approach

The Global Sustainability team used Workiva AI inside the company's Sustainability Management solution. It used the tool to benchmark peer reports, draft and align targets, check alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, check disclosures against frameworks and regulations, and produce first insights for the narrative. Staff refined the output, and more than 90 employees gave input through a multi-stage review.

Takeaway

Keeping the AI inside the reporting platform let the team check its output against internal data. Staff still edited and reviewed every section.
