Open Up Group
OPEN UP AI, an internal generative AI platform on the SoftBank Generative AI Package
Open Up Group saved about 8,000 hours in six months with an internal generative AI platform for support staff, SoftBank says
Problem
Open Up Group's staff handle sensitive personal data such as resumes, and information on engineers sat in separate systems across group companies. Preparing for interviews and transcribing resumes took time.
Approach
Open Up Group chose the SoftBank Generative AI Package in October 2024 and began operating it as OPEN UP AI in February 2025. It lets staff work with personal data in a secure environment. A plugin for internal data integration was added in June 2025, and a unified assistant agent followed in January 2026. Staff can pull an engineer's profile, past interview notes, survey results and attendance records, draft summaries, and convert resume data for import into Salesforce. About 2,000 support staff had access from launch.

Takeaway
Connecting scattered internal data to the assistant produced the time savings SoftBank reported, such as 30 minutes per interview preparation. Usage stayed above the 30% target at about 42%.
